Time-COPS is a top security system
that allows developers and publishers to define, control and
police the time-frame during which the legitimate end-users may
access and execute the software application.
Time-COPS cannot be used alone, but
only in combination to CD-COPS, DVD-COPS, WebCOPS, or Net-COPS.
Two Time-COPS versions are available:
 |
The Hard-Expiry version:
Time-COPS checks the Key-CD(*) every time the program is being loaded, but it refuses to run after a certain predefined date.
This date is absolute, and it should not be confused with relative expiry (xx days after installation). Time-COPS can be used for demo purposes. |
 |
Regular key-CD insertion:
Time-COPS checks the Key-CD(*) only once in a while, and it shows a warning message the day before expiration. The original
Key-CD must then be inserted at the same day, or the following day. Insertion interval can be chosen; typically it is 2 to 4 weeks. |
(*) We use the name "Key-CD"
to describe the CD-ROM where the COPS-protected main executable
file is stored.
